I love the collaboration functionality of Pitch and the beautiful templates you provide. However, as a designer, the lack of animation possibilities is the main reason I'm not going to switch my design team from using Google Slides to Pitch.
This is IMO the biggest selling point that Pitch could have over Google Slides: adding some basic animation possibilities and Magic Move a la Keynote.
Really hope to see something like this soon!

As an alpha and beta tester since 2008, I know what a product team is dealing with Agile workflow: backlogs, sprints, reviews, epics… for MVP features, but it is very strange to see why it takes so much time not having at least the very basic bullet point animation first, and then deliver other requested animations: images, transitions...
I second all comments on the fact this feature is a big blocker to using Pitch efficiently vs Keynote/PowerPoint. As I swear by Keynote and want to move 100% to Pitch, I am frankly frustrated to back to Keynote or seriously thinking by using 100% a tool like Mentimeter which got basic bullet point animation within their built-in slide tool.
I am still attached to Pitch, because this tool evolves very well with powerful features and upcoming updates.
Hope that makes sense?
Cheers!

Rudy Arconte: thank you for your input.
As shared previously our team has several items on the roadmap that will facilitate storytelling in both live and shared presentations.
Thank you very much for your patience, we promise it will be worth it.

In May when Pitch got their $85M in funding, Christian announced, "Our roadmap for 2021 is jam-packed with major improvements, like animations and transitions...."
Are we ever getting these? It's getting really tiresome waiting for such mandatory features.
Tomaz Stolfa
Mike Cohn: We hear you on this!
Last year, we started extensive research on animations and transitions to see what this would entail and how we would go about building a great experience for both.
Our team has a plan in place on how to tackle this and it will ship later this year.
Thanks so much for your patience.

Tomaz Stolfa: This is really great to hear. Animations of blocks and the transitions between slides are really needed! When Pitch releases this it will be a gamechanger, excited to see what is coming.

Tomaz Stolfa: Hello Mr. Stolfa, I really love Pitch and a friend of mine and actually myself would want to know when would animations and transitions be appearing. No precise date but maybe a part of the year perhaps.
Thanks in advance, keep up the good work !

perhaps instead of pooling all the possibilities, the product team can introduce 5 mvp animations and test customer feedback, design complexity, and other metrics.
Your team has made a great deal of innovative designs and templates, incredible work, we trust in your ideas! 🚀

Hi everyone! Michael here from the Community Support team. I wanted to let everyone know that we've been doing design explorations for this internally and have some initial concepts planned. We're not able to share an exact ETA at the moment, however we see and hear this request and will keep everyone posted on any status updates. If you have any additional questions about Pitch, you can email us at support@pitch.com. Thanks!

This is really a basic feature that is urgently missing. The one simple animation that is an absolute must-have is the ability to fade in/fade out elements one by one. If you have a busy slide it can be totally overwhelming to immediately see every single element. I would ship this first as an animation MVP and then wonder about a more advanced system with timings, auto-rollout, additional animations, etc. later.

Florian Simmendinger: Agreed. Lack of animations is a complete blocker for me using this.
Mike Cohn
Florian Simmendinger: Agreed. I keep an eye on Pitch but can't use it until it does some of these very basic things.

Nobody from Pitch to comment the progress or the idea itself?
Michael Ariel
Hi Patrick Hummel! We do have plans to add animations, but the ETA is still being discussed. Would you be interested in chatting more around what type of animations you'd like to see in the product?

Patrick Hummel
Michael Ariel: sounds great! I combined a meeting with Stephanie. You can join this, too? Or should we talk seperately?
Michael Ariel
Patrick Hummel: Great! Stephanie will be able to cover everything when you chat. :-)

This is a crucial features, especially for "pitch" presentations. I often use it to create a moment of suprise.
